Description and history

A world, stories, adventure: JURASSICA is composed of a Museum, a Botanical Garden, Discovery Satellites in the field and a Geosciences University Antenna. JURASSICA allows the discovery of natural sciences, in particular palaeontology and botany.

Museum: Located in an idyllic setting, the Museum traces the history of the natural heritage of the Jura. Rich and varied collections are on display, including numerous marine fossils dating from the Jurassic period, as well as surprising naturalized animals illustrating the region's biodiversity. A mineralogical collection completes the collection. The Museum offers dynamic temporary exhibitions every year.

Botanical garden: The Botanical Garden near the Museum consists of the Museum park, greenhouses and a wooded park. It offers visitors a walk through rich botanical collections (cacti, roses, irises, tillandsias, orchids). Admission is free. Info on the schedule can be found at www.www.jurassica.ch/
